Painting Skin Tones (Part 2)

Following on from the previous instalment of some exotic – and very Khorne inspired – skin tones, the painting machine, Bryn Hill, has another three for us to try. This time he focuses on quick, easy ways of painting darker skin tones.

Deep, Ruddy Tone

1) Base coat with Bugmans Glow base paint.
2) Shade with Agrax Earthshade shade wash.

3) Layer with Tuskgor Fur layer paint avoiding areas of deep shade.

4) Wash with Agrax Earthshade shade wash.
Rugged2ndWash
5) Light drybrush with Eldar Flesh dry paint on the very highest raised areas.
RuggedFinished

Dark Tone

1) Base coat with Rhinox Hide base paint.
DarkBase
2) Shade with Nuln Oil shade wash.
3) Layer sparingly and lightly with Tuskgor Fur. You really only want to paint higher areas at this stage.

5) Very light drybrush with Eldar Flesh dry paint.

6) Wash with Agrax Earthshade shade wash.

1) Base coat with Rhinox Hide base paint.

2) Shade with Nuln Oil shade wash.

3) Layer with Rhinox Hide base paint, avoiding deep shade areas.

4) Wash with Agrax Earthshade shade wash.

With the six variants we have so far, there are plenty of options for your soldiers. Next time we’ll add a few options for Caucasian tones.
