Some more great news to report. I’m pleased to announce that my short story, Warden’s Legacy, has been published in issue 36 of Swords and Sorcery Magazine.
As a prequel to the Legacy of Torr series, this is a particularly important story, set during the Forshai War about twenty years before the events of Forshai Rising. In essence, it is Dane’s origins story, showing how he became a Warden and why he’s terminally grumpy about it. In Warden’s Legacy, Dane’s transfer to an elite unit operating directly under General Balder tests the limits of his courage against legendary foes.
The door is now open for other stories from Blackthorn: the Seven Soldier’s Mythos, Estrille, the founding and fall of Tol Senti, the demise of the Forshai… All are waiting to be written. I’m always interested in which stories are most popular with my readers. I currently have sci-fi, steampunk and comic fantasy projects running, along with more Legacy of Torr. Of course, there can always be more 40k dramatisations and there’s endless scope with the Norse mythology introduced in Planeshifter. Drop me a comment or a tweet and let me know.
It’s been a pleasure to work with Curtis, editor at Swords and Sorcery Magazine. The whole process was easy and extraordinarily quick from acceptance to publication.
